Key Responsibilities:

Job Title: Equipment & Facilities Maintenance Technician

Salary: $23.00/hour

Position Summary: The Equipment & Facilities Maintenance Technician performs routine preventive maintenance on District equipment and provides general building, grounds, and handyman services to maintain safe, functional District facilities. This position does not perform major mechanical repairs or advanced equipment diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine equipment servicing, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid checks, and visual inspections.
Follow manufacturer recommendations and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and service records.
Identify equipment issues and report or coordinate repairs requiring specialized technicians or outside vendors.
Perform general building repairs, including minor plumbing, painting, drywall patching, carpentry, and hardware replacement.
Inspect and maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, and other facility components.
Complete basic electrical-related tasks only when legally permitted and within the employee’s qualifications.
Assist with routine grounds upkeep, facility inspections, and maintenance improvement projects.
Respond to departmental maintenance requests, prioritize assignments, and document completed work.
Maintain tools, supplies, and safe, organized work areas; follow District safety procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; two or more years of related maintenance experience preferred.
Hands-on experience with routine equipment servicing, preferably backhoes or other diesel-powered equipment.
Practical handyman skills in minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general facility repairs.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely, follow equipment manuals, and maintain service records.
Ability to work independently, communicate maintenance needs, and prioritize tasks.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Role Responsibilities: The role focuses on routine preventive equipment maintenance and general facilities upkeep. Major diesel, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs and regulated trade work are referred to qualified vendors or licensed professionals.The organization reserves the right to modify or assign duties and responsibilities based on operational needs.

Job Title: Utility Technician

Role Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Water Distribution and Collection Worker to join our team at Paseo Del Este MUD. In this role, you will assist with the operation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of the District’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems. This position plays an important part in ensuring reliable service, regulatory compliance, and safe working conditions for the community.

Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance and repair of water distribution lines, valves, hydrants, meters.
Assist with maintenance, inspection, and repair of wastewater collection lines, manholes, and lift stations.
Operate equipment, tools, and service vehicles necessary for field operations.
Conduct line locates, flushing, valve exercising, sewer cleaning, and other preventative maintenance activities.
Record field activities, maintenance work, inspections, and findings accurately.
Follow safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment for all team members.
Assist with emergency response for water or sewer service interruptions, backups, and related issues.
Support other field projects and duties as assigned.
May require after-hours, weekend, or emergency call-out response as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather and field conditions.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, digging, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Valid driver’s license.
Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and maintenance practices.
Good communication and organizational skills.

Preferred:

Experience in water distribution, wastewater collection, utility maintenance, or public works.
Knowledge of water and wastewater system operations.
Experience operating light and heavy equipment.
TCEQ water or wastewater license, or ability to obtain one within a required timeframe.
CDL license is a plus.
